Citi formally opens Guyana office

(Kaieteur News) – Global banking giant Citi has officially inaugurated its new representative office in Guyana, signalling its commitment to the country’s economic development and growing integration with international financial markets.

The inauguration was held at a reception on Monday evening at the residence of Nicole D. Theriot, United States Ambassador to Guyana and CARICOM. The event was attended by President Irfaan Ali and Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips and brought together key leaders from Guyana and the region’s public and private sectors to commemorate Citi’s formal entry into one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The inauguration solidifies Citi’s strategy of becoming the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs by providing on-the-ground support in Guyana, the bank said in a release.
