NEWLY-appointed president of the National Council for Indian Culture (NCIC) Surujdeo Mangaroo said yesterday the organisation is ready to expand the organisation’s role in fostering unity in Trinidad and Tobago.
Mangaroo’s appointment was announced on Sunday in a media release from the NCIC. He takes up the mantle following the passing on August 3 of late former independent senator Deoroop Teemal, who also served as head of the NCIC from April 2023.
The new NCIC head told the Express in a telephone interview that he hopes to steer the organisation with the input of all members, while thanking Teemal for his stewardship.
