As far as senior counsel Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj is concerned, Ivor Archie cannot just continue as the country’s Chief Justice without addressing the damning ruling by the Privy Council this week.

“If I judge it based on myself, having taken such an oath, I cannot see how anyone in that position can just continue in office as if nothing happened,” Maharaj said when asked if Chief Justice Archie should step down.

Maharaj was addressing a news conference at his law practice in San Fernando yesterday.
