AS Stuart Young was being sworn in as Prime Minister yesterday, his appointment was called 'high-handed and unconstitutional' by protesters gathered across from President's House.
Around 50 people took to the Queen's Park Savannah to voice their disapproval of former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley's decision to pass the mantle to Young, objecting that the people must be allowed to decide their prime minister.
Most of the protesters supported the Opposition United National Congress (UNC) and political leader Kamla Persad- Bissessar, and they called on the new PM to 'announce the election now'.
