As wide­spread tor­ren­tial rain­fall bat­tered the coun­try this week­end, res­i­dents of Rio Claro com­plained of se­ri­ous loss­es.

One res­i­dent Nar­isha Mo­hammed said she lost sev­er­al items in flood wa­ters. Mo­hammed re­called that around 6 am yes­ter­day, there was an es­ti­mat­ed two feet of wa­ter un­der her home at Poole Val­ley Trace, Guayagua­yare Road. She said it was the high­est lev­el of flood­wa­ters she has seen in quite some time.

Mo­hammes said she lost a fridge, wash­ing ma­chine, wa­ter pump and oth­er items.
