A small fire broke out at the National Library Building in Port of Spain on Friday night, prompting an emergency response and the temporary suspension of library services.
According to police reports, the fire occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Friday on the balcony area of the third floor, on the southwestern side of the building.
Fire officers from the Wrightson Road Fire Station arrived and were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread. The fire caused minor damage to the lower part of a window, but did not enter any interior spaces.
