While the Trinidad and Tobago National Nursing Association (TTNNA) stands by the nurse who attended to six-year-old Jasher Francois moments before he died, it is calling for the Government to urgently implement safe patient-to-staff nurse staffing ratios in all clinical settings.
The TTNNA, in a release on Tuesday, said that it purposefully withheld public comment at the time of the incident, as it conducted its own preliminary fact finding exercise before making statements.
It said that, with this being complete, there will be no comments related to the doctors’ actions or that of any other health practitioner but that comments will be limited specifically to nursing involvement.
