THE Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) will seek the intervention of the High Court to determine if there is sufficient evidence against United National Congress (UNC) deputy political leader David Lee and firearms dealer Hugh Leong Poi to have them face trial on criminal charges.
On Monday, both men were freed by acting Chief Magistrate Christine Charles on allegations of attempting to defraud the State of $1.4 million in motor vehicle taxes.
