RESIDENTS of Rampanalgas say they are fearful and shaken after police rescued kidnap victim Jankie Satie Karim from an abandoned property in the area on Monday.
They have described the ordeal as terrifying and unlike anything they had experienced before.
Residents of the area where Karim was rescued by police on Monday night, who spoke with the Express on condition of anonymity, said the property where Karim was found has been neglected for years but was once a safe and quiet place to stay. One elderly woman who lives nearby said she has been visiting the area for more than 60 years and had never felt unsafe—until now.
