Chief Justice Ivor Archie said there has been a positive shift in the culture of litigation following recent administrative changes in the Judiciary and the passage of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) Act.
He delivered the remarks during his address at the ceremonial opening of the 2025-2026 law term at the Hall of Justice on September 16.
As he provided a snapshot of the policies adopted in the last term, provided statistics for the various court divisions and updates on infrastructure plans and spoke on future plans, Archie noted, “I have repeatedly said that we cannot always try our way out of the backlog.”
