The EnÂviÂronÂmenÂtal ManÂageÂment AuÂthorÂiÂty (EMA) says it has found no breachÂes of enÂviÂronÂmenÂtal reÂquireÂments in works beÂing carÂried out at the Queen’s Park SaÂvanÂnah ahead of InÂdeÂpenÂdence Day celÂeÂbraÂtions, as critÂiÂcism grows over the govÂernÂment’s deÂciÂsion to reÂloÂcate the paÂrade.
The EMA said it inÂvesÂtiÂgatÂed conÂcerns raised pubÂlicly about the works and found that they were temÂpoÂrary in naÂture and did not breach its regÂuÂlaÂtions.
DurÂing a site visÂit, EMA ofÂfiÂcers obÂserved two temÂpoÂrary ramps built over box drains and a temÂpoÂrary stage surÂroundÂed by a perimeÂter fence.
