This was the view expressed by some party promoters despite ongoing debate on the banning and/or placing of restrictions on some popular party venues, namely the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba and the Jean Pierre Complex and Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.
According to some promoters, although the economy is shaky, party-goers are still willing to open their wallets for a slice of the pre-Carnival festivities in the lead-up to Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Although ticket prices for some fetes cross the $1,000 mark, a click on Island E Tickets, an online electronic ticketing application, will show that some are already sold out.
