A cargo vessel sailing from Guyana and headed to the island of St Martin was searched when it arrived in Trinidad on Wednesday, which resulted in a major cocaine seizure with an estimated street value exceeding $254 million.
Police said the 157 packets of cocaine seized weighed more than 182 kilogrammes and had a local street value of $254,027,980.
The shipping vessel originated in Guyana and was carrying narcotics under the guise of legitimate cargo destined for St Martin, police said yesterday.
