DurÂing toÂday’s budÂget deÂbate at the AsÂsemÂbly LegÂisÂlaÂture, ScarÂborÂough, AuÂgusÂtine said the isÂland’s reÂcurÂrent exÂpenÂdiÂture is too high.
On MonÂday, FiÂnance SecÂreÂtary anÂnounced a $4.12 bilÂlion budÂget reÂquest for fisÂcal 2027 with $3.03 bilÂlion in reÂcurÂrent exÂpenÂdiÂture. AuÂgusÂtine said the latÂter figÂure conÂstrains the asÂsemÂbly’s plans and does not alÂlow for sigÂnifÂiÂcant deÂvelÂopÂment.
