Assistant Commissioner of Police Wayne Mystar, Head of the Municipal Police Service, is commending Woman Assistant Superintendent Phillips, Commander of the Chaguanas Municipal Police, and the officers under her command for their vigilance, professionalism, and proactive policing efforts which led to the detection of a potential public health concern during an operation conducted along Narsaloo Ramaya Road, Chaguanas.
During the exercise, Municipal Police officers detained a 35 year old male vendor of Chaguanas who was engaged in the sale of potatoes. Subsequent enquiries and investigations allegedly revealed that the produce may have been sourced from the Claxton Bay Dump. As a result, immediate action was taken by officers to safeguard public health and initiate further investigations into the matter. The said vendor was arrested and assisting officers with its investigation.
ACP Mystar praised the officers involved, noting that their actions exemplify the critical role Municipal Police officers play not only in maintaining law and order but also in protecting the health, safety, and well-being of citizens.
