(Kaieteur News) â Under normal circumstances, high school students in Guyana would sit the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) at the age of 16, readying themselves for a grand exit from secondary school life.
One 13-year-old from Berbice High School (BHS), however, daringly challenged this convention and, after a mere two-year stay in high school, is gearing up to graduate alongside those who are senior to her in age, but certainly not in capacity.
Young Mary Ashley Gupta sat the recently concluded May/June examinations, writing five subjects and securing passes in each, validating the unreserved confidence reposed in her by her parents.
