The Couva Joylanders Steel Orchestra has confirmed that The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) has ended its sponsorship of the band, bringing to a close a long-standing partnership that has supported the steelband’s growth and community outreach.
In a statement issued to fans, players, and supporters, the Joylanders described the relationship with NGC as a “meaningful partnership” that helped strengthen its programmes and uplift its members. The band expressed gratitude to the company for believing in its mission to foster “excellence, unity, and opportunity through music and music education.”
While acknowledging the end of this chapter, the Joylanders said that their commitment to music and community remains “stronger than ever.” The management pledged to continue pushing forward with “resilience, pride, and the unwavering spirit that defines our orchestra.”
