AI learning assistant coming to Forms One and Two

Students of Forms One and Two will soon have an AI-powered learning assistant at their fingertips as the Ministry of Education rolls out a new digital platform featuring an avatar that can answer questions, explain difficult concepts and guide students through their schoolwork.

The platform was launched yesterday at the ministry’s head office on St Vincent Street, Port of Spain. However, the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) is cautioning that the technology must remain a tool in the hands of teachers and should not diminish their professional role.

The AI-enhanced platform is being introduced across six subjects—mathematics, English language arts, social sciences, integrated science, information and communication technology, and Spanish—as the 2026/2027 academic year begins next week.
