18 bid to design, supervise construction of new National Reference Lab

(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Health has received 18 bids from consultancy firms interested in providing design and supervision services for the construction of a new National Public Health Reference Laboratory.

According to the tender minutes published by the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), consultancy firms hail from countries like Guyana, the United Kingdom, Italy, Bangladesh, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States of America, Japan, Germany, Canada and Bulgaria.

The ministry’s expression of interest stated that the government received financing from the world bank for the ‘One Health Project’ and intends to use part of the proceeds to procure consulting services covering both the pre-contract and construction phases of the project.
