Chief executive officer of the CEPEP Company Ltd, Keith Eddy, has taken the first legal step in a defamation claim against Opposition Senator Faris Al-Rawi.
Through his attorneys at Freedom Law Chambers, Eddy issued a pre-action protocol letter to Al-Rawi yesterday, alleging that a series of public remarks made between July 29 and August 13 this year have harmed his reputation and professional standing.
The letter identifies comments attributed to Al-Rawi, a former attorney general, during a news conference, in a media release, and at a political meeting, as well as reports carried in sections of the press.
