The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) is warning persons against engaging in illegal lottery activities, saying they pose a threat to the integrity of Jamaica's regulated gaming industry.
The commission noted that two people, a man and a woman from Jones Town in Kingston, were recently arrested during a crackdown operation and subsequently charged.
The regulator said the two were brought before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, where they pleaded guilty and were fined $100,000 or 30 days' imprisonment.
