(Kaieteur News) – Director of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), James G. Singh, has praised the agency’s officers, community partners and sister security agencies for a record-breaking first half of 2026 in the fight against drug trafficking.

In a message reflecting on CANU’s performance, Singh said the unit’s unprecedented drug seizures were the result of the dedication, discipline and professionalism displayed by officers operating at ports of entry, conducting intelligence-led operations in the field and supporting investigations from behind the scenes.

“The record-breaking seizures we have achieved this year are a direct reflection of your sacrifice and commitment to protecting Guyana,” Singh said, expressing pride in their work.
