A 28-year-old Venezuelan woman was stabbed to death in broad daylight while walking to work along Montrose Main Road, Chaguanas, on Saturday morning in what police believe was a domestic-related attack.

The victim has been identified as Mariannys Jiménez, also known as "Sophia", of Sagan Street, Kelly Village, Caroni. She worked as a dishwasher at Panda's Restaurant.

Officers were on duty at the Chaguanas Police Station when they received a report at about 9.30 a.m. that a woman who had been stabbed had been taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility.
