Farmers Learn Climate-Smart Techniques To Protect Crops

Farmers from across the country participated in a one-day seminar on climate change to learn about the management of crops through flood, heat and drought.

The workshop was held on Tuesday by the MarVista Institute for Agriculture Training and Development in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute of Agricultural Sciences, The Cropper Foundation and Republic Bank at the St James Youth Centre.

Chairman of the MarVista Institute, Marcus Mycoo, said with T&T feeling the effects of El Niño, farmers attending the seminar would gain practical knowledge to better prepare their farms for changing conditions.
