Two men killed after cops allege man pointed gun at them

Two men were shot dead in a pre-dawn police operation in Watson Grove, Portmore, St Catherine, yesterday, after police said one of the men pointed a gun at them and the other later picked up the same firearm.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Javaughn Newell of Tarus Drive, Watson Grove, and a man known only by the alias ‘Brandon’, of Gulf, Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine.
Reports are that about 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, an intelligence-driven operation was conducted along Tarus Road, Watson Grove, Gregory Park.
