The United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has advised that a tropical depression will likely form as environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for  development of a tropical wave located about 950 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

The system is expected to move west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic.  Formation chance through 48 hours is high at 80 per cent.

A different tropical wave located several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing disorganised showers and thunderstorms.
