Former government minister Dr. Lenny Saith has died. He passed away today at his home in Sumadh Garden, San Fernando. Details surrounding his death have not yet been released.
Dr. Saith and his family were close friends and political allies of late prime minister Patrick Manning and his wife, Hazel Manning.
An engineer by profession, Dr. Saith entered Parliament in January 1992, serving as Minister of Planning and Development and Leader of Government Business in the Senate during the 4th Republican Parliament. His maiden parliamentary contribution came on January 22, 1992, during debate on a bill to provide for the service of Trinidad and Tobago for that financial year.
