A 49-year-old Chaguanas man was granted $5 million bail after appearing in court charged with trafficking nearly five kilogrammes of cocaine.
High Court Master Whitney Franklin granted bail to Floyd Brathwaite, a self-employed labourer of Railway Road, for the offence, which allegedly occurred on Sunday.
Police stated that four rectangular packages containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, were found in a car Brathwaite was driving along Balmain Road, Couva. The estimated street value of the drugs is $6.9 million.
