KINGSTON, Jamaica — Assinie Wilson won his first national title and booked his ticket to the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in July after winning the men’s 400m hurdles on Saturday at the JAAA national championships at the National Stadium, running 48.91 seconds.
Wilson, who has been Jamaica’s top men’s intermediate hurdler this year, delivered in the absence of national record holder Roshawn Clark after placing second last year.
Romario Stewart of Mico University was second after he ran a lifetime best 49.43 seconds while Malik James King took third with 50.07 seconds. -Paul A Reid
