Kaieteur Sports – Residents in parts of Guyana experienced heavy winds and persistent rainfall on Wednesday, resulting in minor structural damage at the newly constructed stadium in Anna Regina, Essequibo, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) posted on their Facebook page.
According to preliminary reports, strong gusts associated with the weather system ripped off sections of the roofing material at the facility, which is currently in its final stages of preparation ahead of its scheduled opening next month.
Despite the visible damage, authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported at the site during or after the incident.
