PM Calls Central Block ‘Practical Completion’ A ‘Con Job’ By Former Administration

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is describing the former Government’s “practical completion” of the Port of Spain Hospital’s Central Block as a “con job”.

Responding to Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, she said equipment and furniture were brought in from other locations and set up in the Central Block to give the impression that the facility was complete.

“It was not ready. It was a construction site. It was a con job on the people of Trinidad and Tobago. On March 10th, 2025, one of the biggest charades was perpetrated on the people of T&T when a practical completion ceremony, whatever that means, was held. And at that time, at that time, the facility was still a major construction site and very, very, very far from completion.”
