Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe says interim measures have been implemented to ease pressure on patient services following delays in the reopening of the $1.3 billion Central Block at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Responding to questions from the Express yesterday, Bodoe said the North-West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) has introduced several measures to manage patient flow while the 540-bed facility remains under construction.
On Wednesday, the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) confirmed that the reopening of the Central Block was delayed again and will not be completed by March 31 as previously scheduled.
