(Kaieteur News) – Massy Stores Guyana has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection and youth development through its Two Sides of Tomorrow Visual Arts Competition, held under the theme “Paint for a Plastic-Free Planet.”
Launched on World Environment Day, June 5, 2026, the competition invited young artists to illustrate two possible versions of tomorrow – one affected by environmental neglect and plastic pollution, the other shaped by recycling and responsible choices. It closed on July 31, 2026, drawing 19 entries across two categories: Junior Impressions (ages 10–14) and Young Visionaries (ages 15–18).
Entries were judged anonymously, the panel, assessed only the artwork and its written description for creativity, interpretation of the theme, and strength of message. A People’s Choice Award, decided by public vote, was also presented in each category, with each winner receiving a GY$10,000 Massy Stores gift card.
