The cost of rum and beer in Trinidad and Tobago has risen after Angostura Ltd and Carib Brewery Ltd announced price increases yesterday.
The adjustments come in direct response to Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo’s announcement in Monday’s national budget that excise duties on alcoholic beverages would be doubled.
Around 2 p.m. yesterday, Carib Brewery announced that prices on several of its products—including Carib and Stag beer, as well as the non-alcoholic Malta and Shandy—would be increased.
