Slingerz demolish Den Amstel 8-0 in Elite League ‘West Side Derby’

(Kaieteur News) – Slingerz FC delivered a ruthless statement of intent in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League last evening, dismantling West Side rivals Den Amstel FC 8-0 in the opening match of a planned double-header at the National Training Centre, Providence.

Jamaican striker Kemar Beckford and last season’s leading goalscorer, Neron Barrow, both netted hat-tricks to headline the defending champions’ emphatic victory, while Kelsey Benjamin and last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), Darron Niles, also found the net.

The eight-goal margin represented Slingerz FC’s biggest victory over Den Amstel since the two clubs began competing against each other in the Elite League, further extending their unbeaten record against their Region Three rivals.
