As Trinidad and To­ba­go pre­pares for Car­ni­val 2026, head of the Crim­i­nal Di­vi­sion, As­sis­tant Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice (ACP) Richard Smith is urg­ing the pub­lic to be aware of their sur­round­ings and to drink re­spon­si­bly.

ACP Smith, who is al­so the TTPS Sil­ver Com­man­der for this year's Car­ni­val, strong­ly ad­vised fete-go­ers to use their dis­cre­tion.

“You could nev­er drink out $3,000 in an all-in­clu­sive fete. You could nev­er drink that,” he as­serts. “If you try, you will die try­ing or you will kill oth­er per­sons try­ing to do that.”
