Sabrina Dockery and Jodean Williams became the latest Jamaican women to run under 11 seconds in the 100m after impressive performances at Saturday’s USATF Lone Star Grand Prix, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event held at Cushing stadium in Texas.
Eleven Jamaican women have now dipped under the 11-second barrier this year.
World Athletics Under-20 championships relay gold medalist Dockery upset a strong field to win the women’s 100m with a big personal best, 10.92 seconds (1.6m/s). Williams, who was part of the Jamaican gold medal winning women’s 4x100m relay team at the World Relays in March, was third in 10.97 seconds, the same time given to second place finisher Audrey Leduc of Canada.
