A trail of blood led to Chinese national Zhi Xin Li being found dead at restaurant in St Madeleine on Sunday night.

It was around 11.55 p.m. that a man went to Yue Hua Chinese Restaurant and Bar in Ste Madeleine to make a purchase through an opening at a door from which sales are conducted after the business place closes. Through the opening, he saw a large amount of blood across the floor. It led to behind the counter and out of view. The man went to the Ste Madeleine police station where a report was made.

Officers arrived to find a door open and the body of Zhi Xin LKi in a foetal position with both hands and feet bounded at the wrist and ankles with duct tape, and blood about the head and face. A wooden baton was also on the scene.
