President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali was awarded the CEAPI Medal of Honour during a one-day visit to Madrid, Spain, in recognition of his leadership and Guyana’s growing international standing.
Spanish outlet, The Objective reported that the ceremony brought together Ibero-American business leaders led by CEAPI president Nuria Vilanova, and included a laudatio delivered by Jose Rafael Gomez Sanchez, a CEAPI partner and vice president of Tecnoconsult Group.
While in the Spanish capital, President Ali met with Madrid Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida, where the two discussed the impact of sports tourism on cities and national economies.
