DHAÂKA, Bangladesh – Bangladesh head coach Phil SimÂmons has been givÂen a conÂtract exÂtenÂsion that will keep him in charge unÂtil the end of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
The 61-year-old TrinidaÂdiÂan, who alÂso served as head coach of the West InÂdies, ZimÂbabÂwe, IreÂland and Afghanistan, was apÂpointÂed inÂterÂim head coach back in OcÂtoÂber, 2024.
HowÂevÂer, the Bangladesh CrickÂet Board (BCB) ofÂfered him a longer conÂtract afÂter iniÂtialÂly apÂpointÂing him as inÂterÂim coach unÂtil the conÂcluÂsion of the 2025 ChamÂpiÂons TroÂphy.
