(Kaieteur News) – Police are probing the theft of some $1.6 million worth of 4/350 KCMIL copper cable which left LED lights on the southern side of the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge without power on Monday evening.
The stolen cable reportedly measures some 90 feet.
An electrical maintenance engineer reportedly discovered the cables missing on Tuesday September 1, while investigating the reason for the malfunction.
