THE Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) yesterday commended a teacher who intervened in a school fight to protect a female student who was being attacked by classmates, but advised teachers to exercise caution.
TUTA president Martin Lum Kin said yesterday, via a voice note, that the teacher, whose image has been circulated on social media following the incident, was in good health and that reports of the school taking discipline against him were false.
He said it was confirmed that the incident occurred at the Moruga Secondary School. He added that he was confident that school officials would investigate the matter and apply necessary sanctions.
