Linstead man fined $40,000 for driving on suspended licence

A 24-year-old St Catherine man who was stopped on a highway while driving with a licence that was suspended was on Tuesday sentenced to $40,000 or 24 days’ imprisonment in the St Catherine Parish Court.

Derron Thompson, a labourer of a Linstead address, was charged with driving with a disqualified licence.

When Thompson appeared before Parish Court Judge Genetta Smikle, he pleaded guilty.
