The Sangre Grande Regional Corporation is set to celebrate one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most iconic street foods with its inaugural SGRC Doubles Festival, a vibrant community event designed to honour culinary heritage while supporting local entrepreneurs. In this interview, Chairman Kenwyn Phillip and Alderman Suzan Holder join Virmala to discuss the inspiration behind the festival, its cultural significance, and its alignment with International Doubles Day and Indian Arrival Day.
