Scores of peoÂple flocked to the Guapo RecreÂationÂal Ground on FriÂday night for a taste of the gayelle as the NaÂtionÂal CarÂniÂval ComÂmisÂsion (NCC) brought stickÂfightÂing to the comÂmuÂniÂty.
SevÂerÂal skilled bois men from across the counÂtry put on an enÂterÂtainÂing disÂplay of the saÂcred artÂform, comÂpleÂmentÂed by the voice of vetÂerÂan chantuelle King AnÂthoÂny Byanille and the rhythms of enÂerÂgetic drumÂmers.
Some comÂpetiÂtors enÂdured broÂken finÂgers, sharp blows to the stomÂach, swollen arms and, of course, “buss heads.”
