CitĀing seĀcuĀriĀty conĀcerns durĀing the onĀgoĀing State of EmerĀgency, the GovĀernĀment has anĀnounced that this yearās InĀdeĀpenĀdence Day PaĀrade, fireĀworks and ofĀfiĀcial funcĀtions will be reĀplaced with a NaĀtionĀal Day of Prayer and ReĀflecĀtion on AuĀgust 31.
The event, inĀtendĀed to unite citĀiĀzens of all faiths and backĀgrounds, will foĀcus on seekĀing guidĀance and strength durĀing what the GovĀernĀment deĀscribes as āa chalĀlengĀing time,ā while enĀcourĀagĀing naĀtionĀal reĀflecĀtion on the counĀtryās progress and fuĀture, a stateĀment from the MinĀistry of HomeĀland SeĀcuĀriĀty said.
In line with its seĀcuĀriĀty priĀorĀiĀties, the GovĀernĀment has alĀso canĀcelled the traĀdiĀtionĀal State-sponĀsored fireĀworks disĀplay. InĀstead, onĀly āsilentā fireĀworks will be perĀmitĀted for priĀvate use, aimed at reĀducĀing noise disĀturĀbances for vulĀnerĀaĀble inĀdiĀvidĀuĀals and pets, while mainĀtainĀing pubĀlic calm.
