NEW Minister of People, Social Development and Family Services Vandana Mohit has expressed concern over planning and execution gaps in the development of the social development headquarters, highlighting issues related to cost, time line, and alignment with the ministry’s evolving priorities.
Responding to Express enquiries on Tuesday, Mohit said that while the previous administration had projected the completion of the headquarters by next year, her initial assessment has revealed “significant gaps” in planning and execution.
“To date, significant sums have already been expended on this project,” she stated. “Given this level of investment, a complete abandonment of the facility would not be fiscally prudent. However, it is essential to determine whether continued investment aligns with our current mandate and the needs of vulnerable citizens.”
