Investigations are ongoing into the death of 63-year-old Mathura Ramlogan, who was crushed by a truck near his Penal home on Saturday, as he tried to help a passing motorist.
The 50-year-old driver, the proprietor of a construction company, was transporting galvanize in his white Mitsubishi truck to a temple which was under construction. While driving up a steep hill along Old Bunsee Trace around 2 pm, several sheets of galvanize fell off the tray of the truck on the road near Ramlogan’s home.
The driver stopped the truck, pulled up the handbrakes, placed the gears in neutral and exited the truck.
