In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to the death of 63-year-old Mathu­ra Ram­lo­gan, who was crushed by a truck near his Pe­nal home on Sat­ur­day, as he tried to help a pass­ing mo­torist.

The 50-year-old dri­ver, the pro­pri­etor of a con­struc­tion com­pa­ny, was trans­port­ing gal­va­nize in his white Mit­subishi truck to a tem­ple which was un­der con­struc­tion. While dri­ving up a steep hill along Old Bun­see Trace around 2 pm, sev­er­al sheets of gal­va­nize fell off the tray of the truck on the road near Ram­lo­gan’s home.

The dri­ver stopped the truck, pulled up the hand­brakes, placed the gears in neu­tral and ex­it­ed the truck.
