Mohamed demands answers on cost of Exxon’s pipeline repairs

(Kaieteur News) – Leader of the Opposition, Azruddin Mohamed is demanding answers from the Government of Guyana (GoG) and ExxonMobil on the cost of ongoing repairs to the Gas-to-Energy (GTE) pipeline.
During a press conference on Monday, leader of the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party raised concerns over the growing cost of the energy project, which he says has surpassed US$3B from its initial estimate of just US$1B.
Furthermore, Mohamed raised serious concerns over the integrity of the pipeline that was completed two years ago by the American oil company, specifically probing the fate of Guyana if further “anomalies” appear when the delayed project finally begins generating electricity for the country.
