WHILE the launch of Trinidad and Tobago’s online arrival and departure card system is set to take effect within days, Government officials refused to disclose the cost of the initiative yesterday, instead opting to focus on the benefits the platform was expected to bring to travellers.
The digital system, which will replace the country’s traditional paper-based immigration forms, is scheduled to take effect on March 17. However, travellers are expected to begin accessing the platform from March 14 to complete their arrival and departure information before travelling.
Yesterday, at the launch of the Online Arrival/Departure Card (ADC) Platform at the International Waterfront Complex, Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander declined to provide any information on how much this new initiative will cost taxpayers.
